Reliquary by Kris Brooker

A theocratic Commission rules. Patron rules absolute. The people believe they are protected by Saints, and that their city alone survived Armageddon.

When a Duma crime-boss tasks Scout to track down a stolen Relic, what he omits to mention is the Commission want it too, and they’ll kill anyone who stands in their way.

Find the thief, find the relic. Find a heretic, Kat, who’s as dangerous as she is beautiful. Scout puts them both in the crosshairs of a state sanctioned assassin. Their survival now depends on finding the relic.

It’s an uneasy alliance, through a black market in forbidden history into an underworld of religious sects, to find they’ve stumbled upon an ancient prophecy, and into a heretical coup.

All sides desire the relic. Understanding it’s purpose will reshape the future of Mankind.

Read on public transport. Free helping of escapism that helped the wheels to turn.

This book was free and kept me company when no-one else wanted to. Avid book reader looking for joy, which was found in the pages of Reliquary. Will read Thirty next and report back

Reliquary is a vibrant dystopian culture run by Clerics. Throw in an angel, a black market in relics, a big secret that can bring everything tumbling down, and of course true love that reads like a road crash. My third Brooker read and not my last.

Well worth a read !!!!

In Reliquary the main characters bump and scrape against each other but love is in the air if they can survive long enough against Assasins and Saints. No spoilers, but stumbling through this city landscape is a relic filled minefield. Great characters ina rich and colourful world soaked with danger..
